RV Stuff
« on: Mar 05, 12, 11:26:08 PM »
Hello.  Do any of you have an RV that you drain/dump the black/gray tanks into your home septic system.  I have read on a few sites that it can be done.  I was wanting to know if you connect the sewer tube to the 3" septic clean out.  We don't want to do a lot of dumping this way.  Basically just wanting to know if it's an option....

if you have the opening handy you can dump down there. On my property (not in WW in nor cal) we do this with our RV and my inlaws RV. The only issue I see is that when we dump our RV we use a lot of water (from our well) to rinse out everything. You might have to use a lot of water, which will now be getting expensive.

We have a sewer opening on the side of our garage and we can dump directly to the sewer.  The house was advertised as having RV hook-ups.

Thanks for the responses.

Now I need to find out if the capped pipe on the exterior side of my house is indeed a septic clean out.  It is lined up with the main septic line that is in my crawl space.  I think I'll run some hose water in this before I dump anything nasty down it....

I was originally thinking of tqpping into one the tanks lids and run a pipe under our deck.  I read somebody had done this.  Seems like too much work.

We cannot get anywhere near our septic, so we purchased a "muncher-cruncher-pump" (I know, gross) at camping world. It hooks right on to the 3" outlet on the rv (needs elec), turned it on and were actually able to pump uphill thru a garden hose into a cleanout pipe that connects to the septic tank. I drilled a hole for the hose in the 4" cap of the cleanout and found a fitted plug to plug it when not in use... We just run some fresh water into the holding tanks at the end as usual.  Works fine and very clean.
