Thank you.  Obviously any continued updates on this general area will make my friend feel better. I told her i was sure he could count on community helping with his horses

MODIS and VIIRS satellite sensor thermal imaging fire detections as of 9:00am PDT.  KML file for Google Earth:

http://activefiremaps.fs.fed.us/data/kml/conus_latest_AFM_bundle.kml

This is a Google Earth active link.  Click on the "MODIS Fire Detections" "VIIRS-AF Fire Detections" and "VIIRS I Band Fire Detections" check boxes once you open the link to show the callouts from these satellite sensors.  The active link should refresh/update several times per hour, though the satellite passes are much less frequent than this, so it may appear that the data are not updating regularly.

If I were still in town I would have seen the fire coming over Circle Mt. Sad to see those big pines go up. The fire has started working it's way down and towards Helicopter Hill. No drops, but they had a dozer cut a fire break last night. It doesn't seem to have helped much. No smoke smell in town at all, wind is blowing away from town. But there have been some real strong gusts going in different directions.

Tons of fire trucks each culdesac pac estates
Several firemen are not leaving
We did
So I put a note on door
Name phone number
I layed out out 50 ladder
And layed out two hoses one front one back

Full blast on but with nozzles off
I see no air on ground up there
And the winds are totally unpredictable

Just tried to get back into Wrightwood through Largo Vista to Big Pines and they're not letting anyone through. Officer said from the post office you could see flames coming around the mountain.

This is from a close friend of ours just now........ "Help.....anyone in the area of silver rock. .  Can't get my horses out fast enough...2268 hollister"
She runs a horse rescue with many horses and other critters.  If anyone is able to help, she'd really appreciate it!
