I came home this evening from a very relaxing afternoon at the Country Club, with several friends.  I was there about 6 hours, enjoying life.  I had not seen ants in a couple days, so I felt confident when I left my dog's breakfast on the floor and went to church this morning.  I checked her dish - no ants.  I came home from there, changed clothes, and went to the CC. When I picked up her dish to fix her supper, it was CRAWLING with ants!  I know that the word HATE is a very strong word, but I HATE ANTS!!   >:(

Clean the surrounding area with white vinegar. It confuses the ants by altering their scent trail. During ant season I place my cats food bowl on a dinner plate and fill the plate with water. The ants won't cross the water.  You might have to be a bit more creative and use something bigger than a plate though. So far I have been successful in keeping my kitty's food ant free!  Good luck!

LOL Pete!   ;D
Yarncat, that's a good idea.  I did clean my entire, fairly large kitchen countertop with Simple Green, and haven't had as much trouble there.  I'm not the world's best house cleaner, but I appreciate any suggestions at this point.  And, summer DOES remain my favorite season.   :sunny:
