Fall colors
« on: Oct 12, 19, 10:06:37 PM »
I would love to take my mom to see some fall colors. Can anyone recommend anywhere in or near town where I might take her to see changing leaf colors?

Take a drive up Highway 2 and then down to Jackson Lake.

You can also continue down N4 to Valyermo and Big Rock Creek Road. Lots of deciduous trees there.

Valyermo is the best place locally.  The cottonwoods change, but its usually a narrow window...maybe 1 to 2 weeks.  Winds tend to wipe out the leaves really quick.

The Country Club in Wrightwood has many trees that are just spectacular right now.
