Just saw the Air Force's IR imagery and mapping plane return and on it's way to San Bernardino.  Looks to have left Sacramento this morning and spent some time on the south side of the fire.  This is the first I've seen it since the Lancaster fire - I saw it running back and forth a number of times and thought it was a retardant dropping plane, but ran across an interesting show on NASA TV (Western Wildfires, or something similar) that just happened to talk about it.  It real-time maps IR (heat) imagery onto essentially Google 3d Maps and the Air Force provides that information to the FS strategists.  If you see it around, it's unique in it's military gray paint job with fluorescent orange markings.

None of the personal weather stations in the area are showing winds higher than 20mph (yes, the fire makes it's own wind, but).  One of the weather stations did turn off while I was checking though.  This could mean a few things....power out, internet out, evacuee taking their personal belongings and going...

Ok, I guess that is a retardant plane. :P

And the address of the person whose weather station stopped reporting is roughly 29236 106th St E, Littlerock/Juniper Hills.  It stopped reporting 28 minutes ago.

Google only says that's near Wrightwood.  Is that on Table Mountain?

Also, the AF retardant plane is marked as number 4.

I am so concerned about St. Andrews. I have been going there for 35 years on retreats, what a beautiful gem of a place.
