They called for night drops - the helicopter is loading in East Wrightwood then making the trip across Swarthout Valley

You can follow their path

Angeles_NF @Angeles_NF
Progress continues to be made on containment as the #BobcatFire is now 50%. Fire activity has moderated and only 253 acres were added overnight, for a total of 113,986.

yah,  getting some smoke overhead here at the west end of town for the first time in a few days. But according to Windfinder:  https://www.windfinder.com/#12/34.3446/-117.7467 , it should turn and head more to the north (northeast) by 11am.  Hopefully it will blow up and around us like its been doing for the past week or so.  And according to the other sites (inciweb and firemappers), it looks like their holding the line pretty well on the other side of Baden-Powell. There is still a battle on the far side from us to the south west corner which pulls resources, but these guys are doing an amazing job.  It's nice that we can look at these sites and see for ourselves what going on out there.

There seems to be a bit of confusion on the evacuation warnings/orders between the various agencies.

The release two posts upthread - time 9/24/20 8:20am, with all agency logos on it - states that areas in LA County are still under "orders."  Yesterday, the LA County Sheriff issued a release stating some of those evac areas have been lifted with "no restrictions."  The CHP log is still showing i.d. required to get in. And, the maps are showing those areas as downgraded to "warning" vs "order" status.   And, because these releases do mention Wrightwood under "warning" and do not mention Pinon Hills (in SB County) there is confusion about that.

I believe the SB County side of Wrightwood and Pinon Hills are still under an evacuation "warning"  as I write this. Cheryl o7o
