Those locations are for LA County and the LA County side of Wrightwood. The "evac warning" status for SB County in Pinon Hills and Wrightwood remains in effect. It has been left off of those listings as they're for LA County. NewsPlus just came out with its A.M. update and shows PH & WW "warning" still in effect as do the official SB County sites.

101 Structures destroyed. Many are utility structures, many are homes. Not clear what the mix is without looking at all 101.

You are partially correct. I'll update my post if I can with the breakdown as it sits now.

EDIT: it's too late to update the post. The correct number as of now is 47 "residential structures" destroyed, 12 "affected", 5 "minor". 53 "other" structures destroyed.

California firefighters used flamethrowers in the San Gabriel Mountains to back-burn terrain in the path of the #BobcatFire.

The fire had spread across nearly 114,000 acres by Friday morning. More than 1,500 personnel were involved in the effort to fight the fire. #CAwx

I know all the regulars on this group are very savvy when it comes to fire safety and know the dangers of drones in a active fire area. I would surmise pilots saw something but it probably wasn't a drone. Living on top of this ridge I see Mylar balloons floating by almost daily.

The destruction of the area is shameful but i also think it's been inevitable for years. I would have guess it would have been a fire that started locally on a windy day devastating the area before resources could rally. I personally feel more should have been done in the days prior to protect Juniper Hills homes. It's also evident by the google earth map showing burned homes that defensible space works.

#BOBCATFIRE - Effective at 8:00 a.m. today, the Evacuation Warning for the community of Pinon Hills has been lifted and residents may return home. Wrightwood remains under an Evacuation Warning. Please use caution for emergency personnel still working in the area.
