During a press conference on Friday, San Bernardino County health officials outlined our vaccine rollout plan. Approximately 15,600 initial doses of the Pfizer vaccine arrived today. San Bernardino County will continue to receive approximately 30,000 doses of Pfizer and Moderna vaccines each week.

VACCINE AVAILABLE!

If you are 65 or older, you may get the vaccine today at Wrightwood Elementary School. Call the school office - 760-249-5828. They're giving the first shots today, the second shots in a few weeks

Vaccine available until 2 pm today at Wrightwood Elementary School

Due to the shortness of notice very few folks have shown up at the school today and they have excess vaccine they need to use in lieu of spoiling.

If you are 65 or older, you may get the vaccine today until 2 pm at Wrightwood Elementary School. Call the school office - 760-249-5828 or 5829. They're giving the first shots today, the second shots in a few weeks.

Wrightwood Elementary School is conducting vaccinations today at the school until 2:00PM.  Please call the school at 760-249-5829 to let them know if you want to have the shot today.

I saw the posts here and was able to get my first dose under the "better to administer a dose than throw it away" rule.

Us too! Apparently a lot of people made appts but didn't show up. My husband, who will be 65 next month, got the last vaccine of the day.

I'm 64.  I should be eligible under one of the add-on rules from the Governor on the 15th, but the same day I got the vaccine, they set aside 40% of the doses for underserved communities.

I don't care what the rules are, I just wish they'd quit changing them.  Thankful to have received it on Tuesday so I can stop trying to figure out the changes to the system.

You'll scroll down to Appointments, then select San Bernardino County public health sites. That's where you'll find locations giving vaccines.

They won't open up scheduling for the Wrightwood session until probably just a few days before, if it was like this last one. When appointments open up, you can actually see how many available appointments there are on that day. If they're all full, then the odds are that you won't get it even if you're on a waiting list. But since it's close, never hurts to try, that's what we did. And my husband received the very least shot.

They will be back in Wrightwood on March 25 to give second doses. There might be a chance they'll have a couple leftovers if someone doesn't show up.

Just a thought...

Most people who want to get vaccinated are probably going to start at the top of the page.

As you go down the page, there are other providers, and when you get to the bottom, you find grocery stores and pharmacies.  A lot of people will pick from the links at the top, and not the ones at the bottom.

We had no trouble getting an appointment at RiteAid in Phelan for my wife.

As usual, your mileage may vary.  The state wants to take over the whole system, so if you're qualified and in a hurry, take the time to study the whole county vaccine page.
