They have air on it and more on the way.  It's between Big Pines and the 2 a bit east of Mt. Lewis - best I can tell.

I bet $20 the FS didn't redistribute their staff to unburned areas of the forest after the Bobcat fire.

It's amazing how this is a huge deal right at the start (it is), and then once they've got a fairly good handle on it, the information just goes away.

Seriously, it'd be nice if the news media would at least say "yeah, it's all over but mopping up."

Same for the ANF.

I made good use of the Bobcat Fire post for the links to Broadcastify, and FlightRadar24.  There was no air support yesterday, and listening to the fire radio, there was no need or desire.

So far, today is pretty quiet.

Using those sources seems to be the only way to tell things are winding down.

I checked the cameras at Alertwildfire and flight radar yesterday too.   There were helos up circling the fire location. There was another helo over NW of Mt. Wilson.  I'm guessing spotters but don't know. The wind is up again today.  I'll likely check the cameras a few times.   This site, bar none, is the only one that has consistent and accurate info during fire emergencies.  I thank all of you that contribute to the effort.  Our local emergency PIOs should use you guys as an example of what is possible to keep the public informed.
