I have noticed the same from my location in Pinon Hills.

I believe the smoke is coming from wildfires to the north near Sequoia NF.

Lots of  people smelling smoke here in Pinon Hills.  Nothing on SB Fire.  Supposedly a fire between here and WW????

SBC Fire has three fires that are now out that were reported between 4am - 6am :   Phelan, Pinon Hills, Lytle Creek.

The air report shows smoke:  https://fire.airnow.gov/

TCAARABIANS,

Where does one look to get the information below that you posted?  Do you have to have a scanner or something or is there a website on which this information is posted?  I smelled fire since very early this morning but nothing was on Wrightwoodcalif yet.  I would love to know where else to look when I smell fire but no one else in the community is awake yet :)

Thanks.

You can go to Pulse Point on your computer at sbcfire.org   You can also download Pulse Point in an app.  I also will check the LA County Fire twitter because we're so close to county line.

This site is better than everything combined if we have a fire to worry about.   There were an unusual number of small fires this morning.  There were two more in Phelan after I posted my previous.

The consensus seems to be the smoke everyone is smelling is from the northern fires.  Cheryl

The entire Antelope Valley is covered in smoke, too. Drift smoke is correct. There is a new fire on the extreme western edge of the AV. That might be the cause of a lot of this. The Emigrant and Route fires may be partially to blame.

Pulse Point is actually designed as a CPR notification alert.
Pulse Point is a good tool and shows dispatches but not necessarily active fires. The call may turn out to be "unable to locate" or a "warming fire"

The two dispatch links at the Top of this Forum are great for getting first hand information of Forest Service response.
