It's amazing (and slightly irritating) how there can be a ton of fire news, and when things reach a certain point, everything goes silent.

I'm still interested in what's happening with the Bronco Fire, just not enough to drive down the pass on a Friday.

It looks like they opened the far-right lane on the NB some time yesterday. It was contained at 90 acres.

While I mentioned the Bronco Fire, it's a question in general.

One day a fire is big news, the next day it's dead silent, even before they reach 100% containment.

I've got questions too. Like...how did the bobcat fire start? (yes, I googled, and there is no definitive answer) And...what drives the lack of urgency on display from firefighters in the early stages of a fire? The process by which information is shared with the public seems sketchy. There is a severe lack of oversight.

As for this fire, the only thing that kept this fire from taking off was topography and wind direction - it was up and over that entire hillside in no time. 45 minutes before the first phoschek drop? This reeks of dysfunction.
