Wildfire Alert

#EastFire - Firefighters from the Angeles National Forest are on the scene of a brush fire in heavy fuels in the Angeles National Forest at the East Fork/Glendora Mountain Road at this time. The fire is estimated to be 75 acres in size.

More firefighters and equipment are being requested at this time.

There are no evacuations or structures threatened. The fire is burning towards a wilderness area at this time.

County road closures in the area:

Glendora Mountain Road from Glendora, CA to the East Fork
Glendora Ridge Road from Mt. Baldy to Glendora Mountain Road

Wildfire Update

#EastFire - Today, the #EastFire, a brush fire in the Angeles National Forest in the East Fork/Glendora Mountain Road area, is estimated at 149 acres with 20% containment.

There are no evacuations or structures threatened.
Very little smoke is coming from the fire today.

County road closures in the area remain in place:
Glendora Mountain Road from Glendora, CA to the East Fork
Glendora Ridge Road from Mt. Baldy to Glendora Mountain Road

SPECIAL NOTE: San Gabriel OHV Area will be closed this weekend due to fire operations nearby.

An afternoon aerial reconnaissance flight shows firefighters making great progress in difficult terrain and hot dry weather. The #East Fire is 149 acres with 70% containment.

There are no evacuations or structures threatened.

Updated road closures near the #East Fire area:

East Fork Road from Hwy 39 to Glendora Mountain Road
Glendora Mountain Road from Glendora, CA to the East Fork
Glendora Ridge Road from Mt. Baldy to Glendora Mountain Road.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

NOTE: San Gabriel OHV Area will be closed this weekend (August 27-28) due to fire operations nearby.
