Snowline Joint Unified School District

Good morning Snowline,
Today, Friday, 2.24, all Snowline schools will be closed due to inclement weather. Most of the storm energy will pass through our area today. Please stay safe as you travel the roadways. As of 4 am, Wrightwood Elementary has 6ish inches of snow, and Phelan Elementary has a trace to 1/2 inch of snow. For all eastbound traffic, chain control is set up at Beekly and HWY 138. We hope everyone has a great weekend, and we will evaluate our operations throughout the weekend to ensure a safe return to school on Monday!
Stay warm, stay safe!

Snowline Schools Closed 2.28

Thank you to the AMAZING Snowline staff who came in today to help clear snow, ice, and debris! This is an arduous task, and we couldn't be more thankful to the team! Extensive cleanup was made at all school sites, but we still need a little more time to prepare for our students' return. In addition, we are communicating with the California Highway Patrol and Cal Trans regarding the road closure still in place on HWY 2, impacting our Wrightwood students, staff, and families. Unfortunately, there is yet to be a set time or day for HWY 2 to reopen.

We will continue to work toward reopening our schools as quickly and safely as possible. Tomorrow, Tuesday, 2.28, all Snowline schools will be closed.

We have been so inspired by the Snowline community these past few days. We have seen strangers pulling each other out from the mud and snow, people offering to go grocery shopping for those who can't make it out of their homes, and providing transportation for those in need. The outpouring of generosity from this community has been moving. Thank you for making the Snowline community the best place to live, work, and attend school.

Stay safe!

Snowline Schools Closed on 3.1

Good morning Snowline,

Today, Wednesday, 3/1, all Snowline schools will be closed due to road closures and inclement weather. As of 4 am, HWY 138 has a hard closure in place at Beekly Rd and the 15 Freeway. HWY 2 and HWY 138 were unplowed at that time. If you must be on the roads this morning, please travel safely, as visibility, wind, and snow provided challenging driving conditions! We will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as they develop.

Stay safe and stay tuned.

Snowline Schools Closed 3.2

Good afternoon Snowline,

Whew, what a whirlwind of a week! It looks like blue skies are in our future! Today's road closures of HWY 138 and HWY 2 impacted our staff's ability to remove snow at some of our school sites. We received significant snowfall today, and we will need some time to evaluate and clean up our schools. Tomorrow, Thursday, 3.2, all Snowline schools will be closed.

At this time, HWY 2 is still closed to non-residential traffic. After speaking with CalTans this morning, an estimated opening of HWY 2 has yet to be determined. We will continue to work with our partner agencies to provide the latest information possible. This storm is one for the record books, and we would love to create a photo archive of this historic event. Please email any storm/snow photos/videos you have to pr@snowlineschools.com

Stay safe, and stay tuned!

See you tomorrow! Transportation Updates!

Good evening Snowline,

We are excited to see everyone tomorrow! If you are a Snowline staffer, please wear your Snowline T-Shirt!

Some of our school sites will continue to have snow and ice in shaded areas.
Please try to avoid those areas as much as possible. Also, please select your footwear ppropriately these next few days, as areas still may be slippery, as we do our best to place ice-melt daily and clean up ice-prone areas.

Transportation has been hard at work this weekend, assessing bus routes. At this point, the residential roads and HWY 2 are too narrow for our buses. Transportation will be provided from the Wrightwood Community Center. If your student uses Snowline Transportation from Wrightwood, please plan on only one bus stop until the roads are widened. We have contacted San Bernardino County Roads regarding our bus routes as they continue to clean up our Wrightwood area.

Pick up/Drop off Wrightwood Community Center (Closest Address 1261 HWY 2)

The SHS Bus will be at the Community Center for pick up from 6:15a-6:30a

The SHS HS Bus will be at the Community Center for drop off from 2:15p-2:30p

The PMMS Bus will be at the Community Center for pick up from 8:15a-8:30a

The PMMS Bus will be at the Community Center for drop off from 4:00p-4:15p

Highway 2 is open for residents and essential workers, and we have confirmed with both Cal Trans and California Highway Patrol that non-residential staff will be allowed to enter.  There is also a high likely hood that the Highway will be open first thing tomorrow morning.

We want to thank all of the Snowline team for their hard work. Without them, tomorrow would not have happened. We can't wait to see you tomorrow!

Stay safe, and stay tuned!

Snowline Joint Unified School District

Good afternoon Snowline,
Starting Monday, 3.13.23, all Wrightwood bus routes will return to normal operations. Snowline Transportation worked closely with Cal Trans and San Bernardino County Roads to improve access to our bus stops. We also want to thank the Wrightwood parents for working with us last week on our modified bus route schedule and location. Thank you for your continued support!
We hope you have a great afternoon!
