SAN BERNARDINO, CA – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) is alerting the public that construction contractors will be performing sign and barrier placement on Interstate 15 (I-15) for the south-bound (SB) Cajon Weigh Station Relocation Project.
Beginning Wednesday, November 1, 2023, the SB I-15 Brake Check Area past Oak Hills will be closed for the duration of the project. Commercial drivers are advised to plan ahead to safely merge and avoid traffic delays. Crews are currently placing signage to alert drivers about roadwork ahead. Note: Closures are dependent on contractor receiving proper materials for each job function. They can be changed or canceled at any time. Weather permitting.
This project will relocate the SB Cajon Weigh Station and Truck Safety Check Area at Cajon. The existing facility will be closed. Crews will perform work behind k-rail barriers. The project is expected to be complete in early 2025. Please adhere to any Construction Work Zone Speed Limit Reduction signs.
