CAL FIRE San Bernardino/Inyo/Mono Unit's free chipping program has returned for the Tri Communities of Phelan, Pinon Hills and Wrightwood to help prepare properties for wildfire season.
The program is held every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Cal Fire Phelan Fire Station, located at 9600 Centola Road in Phelan. For midweek appointments for green waste removal please call the Phelan Fire Station. 760-868-3555
Accepted materials include yard trimmings, tree limbs, and brush, though Joshua trees will not be accepted.
The last day will be September 28 ending at 2 pm
