The Wrightwood Fire Safe Council has renewed their Adopt-a-Hydrant program with a different approach.
In so much as we do not have a large number of events where we can set up our map and allow you to select the hydrant closest to you we hope this new approach will prove successful.
If you are interested in adopting a hydrant, locate the hydrant nearest you and note the location and provide your name, street address, email address and phone number and send the information to Hank Hallmark who is coordinating the program.
The main issue is to keep area around the hydrant clear of snow during and after a snow event. Of course, if it is overgrown with weeds we would appreciate you clearing them.
It's important to keep the hydrant clear during snow events due to a freezing weather event which might result in a delay if the Fire Dept had to clear the area and it was frozen!
