Wrightwood to Host Tri-Community Green Waste Recycling Days This Weekend

The Tri-Community Green Waste Recycling Days will return to Wrightwood from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday through Sunday, May 29-31, offering residents a free opportunity to prepare for wildfire season. The event will take place at 1450 Highway 2, across from the Wrightwood Fire Station, and is aimed at helping the community reduce fire risks by properly disposing of green waste.

Accepted materials include pine needles and cones, weeds and grass, as well as branches and tree trimmings, with limbs limited to a maximum diameter of 10 inches. Pine needles do not need to be bagged. Items not accepted include rocks, dirt, trash, Joshua trees, palms, stumps, roots and lumber.

For safety, smoking is prohibited on-site, trailers are limited to a maximum length of 20 feet, and all loads must be covered and secured with a tarp during transport, as required by law.

RECORD SETTING DAY at the pine needle and green waste collection event today.
289 vehicle loads of waste was dropped off today. That filled 10 forty yard bins.
This is the largest single day drop off number in the event’s history which started in 2007.

Keep up the good work Wrightwood. This event will continue tomorrow from 9am until 3pm.
Get your yards cleaned up before the County starts property inspections on June 1st.
