The water and salt lick are a mile up the dirt road from my house.  I bring 5 gallons of water up every 3 or 4 days and swap the memory card out of the game camera.

I put the water & salt out for the deer but have yet to capture a picture of any.  I see more deer around my house then ever. I think this is due to the crown fire burning a lot of the area to the West.

Where there's deer there's mountain lions so I didn't want to put the water & salt to close to my home.

The water and salt have been up there about 2 months and I'm noticing it's getting more popular with the animals as time goes on.

Looking closer I see what almost has to be a kitten on the lower right of the brown barrel. It appears to be drinking out of the smaller water container.

Ran across these this past weekend.  Just in time for Thanksgiving!  Gobble gobble.

I know a coyote when I see one.

These don't look like coyotes.

Wow SkierBob,
Are those coyotes, wolves or in one photo it looked like a fox?  Can you give a general area where these photos are taken please?
Thanks for the amazing photos!

Great photos, yes!   But I'm so glad my tiny wiener dog is safely in her little bed here in WW.

Amazing how the critters like the salt lick. And my doc wants me to restrict salt.  Haha.  But I don't like much of it anyway.....

Maybe the situation there is that the dark one looks like a wild/feral dog, and the smaller lighter-colored ones look like a cross between a coyote and the larger darker one.  Maybe some sort of half-breed.

The photos were taken about 100ft below the summit of Tenhi Mtn. Tenhi is located above Lake Palmdale (it's the mtn with the cell towers on it).

This fella snuck up like he's never been here before. He stayed and drank like this for a few minutes.

It's the whiskey he's got in his guzzler that's working so well  ;)

This is what the area looks like where the camera is located. You're looking Southwest. The guzzler is in the ravine behind the bush in the center of the pic.

This is the view looking Northeast.
