That's not how I remember Barrow airport when I had a connecting flight (!) through there over 10 years ago.  Maybe that had more to do with it being -20 F, windy, and pitch black when walking from the plane to the terminal!   ;D

That looks like a very cool place to check out.  Did you take a close up tour?  And do they know which Indians lived there?  I have read it was home to about 125 people.

@ HB They now call them the Ancient Puebloans and attribute many surrounding tribes to them.  I took several tours and was done in the ruins. ;D

Small tip for new DSLR owners:
When on vacation not only bring a capable DSLR with a good range of lenses..also bring a decent P&S camera. 

There will be times like these:



Also many P&S cameras go real wide.  Mine goes to 7.1 mm.  Hard to get with a DSLR.
