Too cool.....and I thought I was the only one that played with strange bugs.

I'll have to see about getting my Praying Mantis shots on here...I always catch them and place them around in my garden every year and they stay put all year too. Great pets.

It looks like a sun tornado.

Doesn't it look like a tornado touching down?
I have a nikon d70 and accidentally left the dial on the portrait setting. I thought it might have been reflection off the ocean but it seemed like there was too much haze for that.
Someone should know that is more familiar with photography.
I sure didn't notice it when I was taking the shots although I wasn't looking continuously at the sun either.

and yes it is the greatest school in the history of the universe! (but I didn't go there, my daughter now attends.) Arizona almost won tonight but don't worry Oregon State still has to beat the ducks.

You can use any of my photos. I think you can go on my smugmug site and make any size you want of any pic. How do you make a desktop pic? I have a mac.
That trail starts at the top of Pasadena. Where Lake St. ends.
I waited for the sun to go down. I have about 20 more shots of it setting. Those four were really different.
I am not a photographer either, I just take a lot of pictures and eventually I get lucky.

FIGHT ON, I don't know anything about a MAC. I don't know very much about ANY computer. The only way I know how to make a desktop pic, is to right click on it, then pick "save as background". Which I did, for your beautiful pic.

Well, you know a whole lot more about photography than I do. I have a Canon A-520 Powershot, the memory chip is full (250 pics or something), and I don't even know how to put them on the computer, to clear the chip, so, basically, the camera is useless. I think I'm hopeless in this regard.
