On Phelan Rd I saw Red Tailed Hawks in a nest on one of the power poles. So I went home and got my telephoto lens to take pictures and there are 2 babies! I did not stay long cause mom & dad had "dinner" to deliver!

not sure exactly, I think it was some kind of game. I walked by and a few people were reading some of them and heading off toward the water.
Then I came back by a while later and the flags were still there!

My son & daughter in law have some new chickens. This chicken (actually all of them) will sit on the post, fall asleep and its head hangs down. Sorry for the poor quality picture but I didn't have my good camera.

I believe those red flags may be for United States fallen military men and women - maybe the names are on the flags, not sure. Is that photo of red flags taken near Santa Monica?

I have seen articles in LA Times about citizen memorials like that one for our military men and women. So sad to think of our soldiers being lost - I wish they would come home soon.

Yep! Santa Monica north of the pier. I was on a CF walk.
Now that you mention fallen military men look at the walkway on this pic.

Cool pictures, all!

Regarding nesting birds on Phelan road, some ravens have been nesting on power pole on the south side west of the light at Wilson Ranch Road for years.
Also, small birds nest inside the arms which hold the traffic lights at Sheep Creek, Johnson, and Baldy Mesa roads. You can see them go in and out through holes in the arms as you sit at red lights.
