What are you shooting with?  A DSLR?  If so the stabilizer is in the lens.  They are more expensive but worth it.

I have two tripods but never really use them.  I do have a mono pod that I use when I shoot sporting events as my big lens 100-400MM gets very heavy.

I do try and get shots right so I don't have to edit much, this is where composing the shot comes in handy.  I try to shoot in a way where there are not alot of distractions but that is darn near impossible.  I hate fences and power lines and remove them when I can in most photos.

Today in Phelan it rained, it snowed, and the sun came out once in awhile. So I took a picture of the snow melting off the pampas grass. I was able to get the reflection of the pampas grass in the water drop.

one of my lens has it... on my d7k which I have not used yet so that's my excuse for not knowing! my other lens don't have it.

Thanks everyone! LOVE that picture SD, it's a Christmas card!
F.O. I used a Canon 7D, and Tamron 18-270 mm. I used the telephoto, not macro, and I think the sun's position made that shot.

I was in my room, but could hear Channel 7 news in the other room.  I heard them talking about a 4-foot icicle - then I saw your post. 

I was able to back up the DVR and saw it!  Pretty cool!

It was exciting.  I did not know they were going to show it...  They usually send you an email...  Thank goodness for dvr's to back up so you can record!!!!  2nd pic that made the news!!!!

Yes when you fill out the form there is a box you click that gives them the right to publish it.  Last time I got an email that they were going to use it and what time so I could watch.  I sent this in at about 3pm to they probably did not have time.....  I mean the awards were on, that seemed to be the only important thing on the news last night......
