I have heard that you should never plant anything until after Memorial Day.

I did that several years ago.   Bought daffodils late and put it in the fridge.   I planted them on Memorial day and had the prettiest (and only) blooming daffodils in town for July fourth.   Those same daffodil come back every year now but half of them came up and have faded and the other half is cautious and will probably bloom sometime in the next couple of weeks.

I used to start my seeds indoors around February/March and the plants are ready to be put in around tax time.   I've given that up because there just isn't any room in my little house for seeds and children.    This year I've chosen the kids.   ;D

i know we usually get snow around mothers day so I always wait until the middle of May to plant but after a winter like this I was wondering if it was ok to plant early. I should probably just wait but its so temping when the weather is as nice as its been...(past few days excluded)

I've lived up here for 30 years now, and I always wait till after Memorial Day to plant anything that is frost-tender.  I remember one Memorial weekend, many moons ago, that we went to the yard sales on the Saturday in shorts and tank tops.  That night a storm blew in, and we got quite a bit of snow on Sunday.  You never know up here, but I don't want to waste the time and the $, only to have to start all over.
