How to store a queen sized bed (under the house)
« on: Sep 06, 07, 01:45:01 AM »
Help...

Out of the blue... our vacation rental got rented... but instead of for the weekend, it got rented for the next 6 months.  Due to circumstances beyond our control, this has turned out to be a good thing. The only problem is we have to figure out how to store a queen size bed for the next 6 months, most likely under our cabin.

We have a walk in storage area under our cabin but the ground underneath is dirt that  squirrels etc. have been known to enter and gnaw into cardboard boxes, etc., stored underneath.  Is there there some way that we can wrap up the box spring and mattress such that the varmints will avoid it for the next 6 months..... or should we plan to rent a vehicle and bring the bed back to Burbank?

Inquiring minds  want to know...

Use hooks or preferably eyelets in the beams and stretch rope or large bungee cords,  wrap with plastic. Good Luck!

They make special heavy plastic covers to store mattress' with zipper closures. Here are two sites I found that carry such....

moverssupplies.com
packing.com

Search the web and you can find other companies

If the bed is in good condition I'd put it in a rental storage unit---maybe some other stuff too.
