I remember paying 90 a month for 3Mbps, business DSL.  Now 30Mbps is considered as very slow.  The crazy thing is that this was only a year or so ago that I was on the 3Mbps.

It's nice that Wrightwood has come such a long way in such a short time, but it's amazing how fast expectations can grow.

Good luck on the road today, everyone!

Going down for about 5 minutes while we prepare for our new circuit.

Don't get to excited yet.. circuit is not in yet.. just getting ready for it.. Had to switch everything over internally to 10 Gig. That is done.
We need the optics for the new circuit. That was due to be installed today at 9am.. obviously that is not going to happen so trying to reschedule that.

I did that yesterday also!  ;D Of course, the 90 day wait period for the credit is a little ridiculous.

I hadn't heard that.. that is bad. Verizon used to just prorate and cancel it on the same day.
FTR has actually made us long for the days Verizon! Good job FTR.

I know right?  I carry a credit balance with Frontier so waiting 90 days for my refund is silly.  I did request a check instead of a debit card and was told they can do that.

Circuit is being provisioned and tested. We have light all the way to LA.

We are in the home stretch now.

Verizon was roughly two months (30 days to issuance of closing bill + 14 days to issuance of final bill + mail time for refund).  Was that way for decades before Incompetier.

For the sake of accuracy I had the closing and final bill dates backwards, but the overall time is the same. ;D

FTR has actually made us long for the days Verizon! Good job FTR.

We cancelled my wife's POTS line and she had a credit, so we needed a refund.

A check was not offered, the only thing that was offered was a "gift card."  It took 3 months.

The card was restricted so it had to be a purchase.  It also carried a $3/month fee.

You could go to the card's website (this wasn't a Frontier "service") and activate the card.  Then you could go back and set up an ACH to transfer the money to a checking account.  You could not go to an ATM and draw the funds.

If you chose the ACH transfer, they told you that if you mistyped the account or routing number, your money was gone with no further recourse.

When we cancelled the DSL, I was very careful to make sure we owed them money.

Weasels!

And your point is?

Actually, I think that Frontier outsources this to some evil banksters -- they save Frontier all the work of refunding in exchange for whatever they can make in fees.  I'll bet they give Frontier a small discount, because it's pretty hard to get the last $5 or $10 off the card.
