and our taxes that pay for county services go where then?
I'm not advocating one way or another on Snow Removal. The only problem I have with the current system is the berm at the end of my driveway.
Our county taxes are apportioned by the value of each service. Money given for each "power" (service) goes to the CSD instead of the county when the CSD takes on a power.
For example, we pay the County for street lighting. The street light money goes from the County to the CSD, and the CSD pays the SCE bill each month.
Our taxes are unchanged.
My questions (and I have not read the report) are:
Is "snow removal" separate from "road maintenance?" and "is there enough money to cover staff and equipment?"
I'm sure that's part of the study.
I'm sure the CSD did the study because people griped about snow removal, and the CSD can only pass on the gripes to the County, they can't really fix it because they don't have the "snow removal power."
