I chatted with them before anyone showed up (trying to score some extra points  ;) ) and they were all very nice and talkative.

They chatted about their Pasadena Radio Club and how it was a real social group and that most members belonged to other radio clubs/groups. We also talked about the large increase in tests since the no code rules had changed.

It was only when the tests began that they were all business.

Congratulations to all the new techs and generals! I remember my tech test--the VECs were very very serious and I was nervous that I might accidentally glance somewhere I shouldn't and would get a ruler across the knuckles!

As far as upgrading to my general...Oh my gosh, the peer pressure!!! I didn't have time to study for the general this round, but will probably go for it next time. I HATE falling behind like this! Gotta keep up with the Azizs!

When the lady (Merrie?) gave me my documents to sign for the FCC and ARRL, she asked me if I wanted to join the NRA!(by accident).

I smiled and said no thank you, I haven't yet gone down that road, but I am an ARRL member.  She smiled back and said she was a member of both.

I guess there is some synergy between the two groups, when you think about it...

First check your written paper work to make sure it's clear the way it's written.

When she wrote my name on that paper she wrote GOSSETT and some one probably thought it was an H... It won't be the first time something like this has happened.

My mom looked at the paper she said it looks like an H to me

I would think the first thing to do would be for Clint to check with the VEC to see what was submitted to the FCC.

Wasn't BostonBob in charge of that department ?  ::)

Did anyone else notice who is going to be in the AM map and compass class?

Larry (KE6EOL)

The man is infamous already!
