Just wondering if anyone knows what's going on with the red helicopter that keeps coming and going this morning on 138? It seems to be landing and taking off every 15 minutes or so.

This helicopter is working on setting new power/telephone poles. The base of operations is at Hwy 138 & Hwy 2. I saw the copter and many workers there this morning at around 7:15am. It looked like they were all meeting prior to the work starting.

Third phase of dropping new poles prior to widening Hwy 138. They've already done from beyond Beekley and now are heading down to the freeway. They are a well oiled machine and hook a new pole in less then 30 seconds before pilot lifts and flies away.

The copters land at the old Cal Trans yard almost always. They have landed up on the road to Mt. High North, old Ski Sunrise, but the old Cal Trans yard is the place.
