Sure, if they're shooting at pedestrians, cars, or storefronts. Good for the helicopters.

we heard paint ballers and bb guns charging up hills and firing off paint ball guns and bb guns - hope no one or no animals were injured.

I would think it would have to be something pretty serious for the helicopter to be sent up here.  Taking into consideration gas prices and all.  Paint ball guns and airsoft guns (that shoot little plastic bb's)  would not do major harm to animals.  They will leave a welt but that's about it.  My youngest boy has an airsoft rifle and it will leave a welt but goes away in a day or two.

Why don't one of you who seems to have all the connections with local law enforcement call and find out what is/was going on?

We saw an LA County Sheriff Helicopter by Jackson Lake land yesterday at around 12:00 noon. Then we heard the sirens, I think something bad must have happened there :( We had just driven by and saw many people swimming in the lake. I hope the outcome of the copter/& sirens turned out ok?

Seen two Sheriff cars at the Mini Mart around 7:30 this evening and later around 8:00 a Sheriff had a small dark truck pulled over off of LPC and HWY 2.

Saw THREE SB Sheriff patrol cars reconnoitering near the elementary school about 7:45 p.m. yesterday evening and figured they were going to make a sweep somewhere near. About ten minutes later, we saw them at a trashed vacant house on Snowbird/Evergreen checking for squatters/trespassers.

GOOD JOB, Deputies! We LOVE to see more police presence in WW! :2thumbsup:  And for those that don't like to see the cops...well, maybe there's a REASON.  ::)

P.S. Our hats off to the Sheriff's Deputies & CHP for their hard work. We have NEVER seen them taking a break at any mini-mart or bakery ANYWHERE although they certainly deserve it! Keep up the good fight.

Gary,
I find your dismissive posts perplexing since you do not even live in Wrightwood. Hmmm. ???

I saw them too, I was lucky enough to be walking my dog right around that time. Impressive machines, that's for sure. I thought about waving but decided that was probably too geeky. They were sure worth seeing though!

I don't think that's geeky!  Many years ago I was out on a road trip on US 50 crossing the Utah desert.  I gave my dogs a stretch/potty break off the side of the road and when out walking, three jets flew overhead at a low level.  After I got over my initial jolt, I waved to the planes.  The pilot in the middle tipped his wing as a wave back.  I thought that was really neat!

I am confused Cherokee Kid. Why is the Code 7 comment bad. I had to look it up...Code 7 is policeman's code for "We've got your back."

I used to work next to the airport runway and the Nellis AFB planes and helicopters would often take runs there. Pretty neat. We lived next to a commerical helicopter flight zone - that was not so neat. Three times a day/10 copters in a row.

But the Concord was always the most fun to watch land and take off.

Codes vary from department to department, but generally "Code 7" stands for going unavailable to eat (i.e. "Unit 19-xx Paul, Code 7 at The Grizzly").

Cherokee Kid...........if you were referring to my comment about Code 7 being "dismissive", I think you made a mistake.
In coptalk...Code 7 is request for lunch, lunch break, etc.  Code 7 has nothing to do with "got your back"
