different sets of military helicopters. Probably doing training and/or planning an attack on Pinion Hills.

I think snowave is right (about the training, not the attack).

I have seen 3 different military helicopters out here near Jackson Lake this morning.

Another military thing; I saw one chinook fly low over my house on the east side a few minutes ago. There's another that sounds like a single rotor just hovering to the east, over LPC it sounds. Probably exercises, but with all these valleys I don't know why they have to do it here. It's kind of disconcerting.

There is forest thinning taking place in WW, the helicopters are moving trees.

Yeah, I was about to say, I had to make a run to the PO so took a peak, and it's the forest service hauling trees up on LPC. Guess the chinook was unrelated.

I appreciate having the forest thinned in the property that's right at our backyard. Having a helicopter making circles above our house ALL day is a little crazy making. You know it's loud when you can't hear the Fedex guy knocking on your door and can't make a call all day due to volume in the house.

I think the land they are working on is privately owned. Anyone know if this is more than a one day project?

It's not a Forest Service project. The work is being conducted under the San Bernardino County Fire Department Hazardous Tree program by a private contractor.

Thanks for the background info Wrightwood. Any idea if this is going to be going on for a while?

My home is my office and frankly the noise level was at such a level today that I don't think I could've made a phone call and been heard. Plus all the "looky loos" literally parked right in front of the house and the helicopter had the dogs barking and going crazy.

I'm glad we're getting the forest cleared, but the path of the tree removal was a loop above our house all day long.

Very frustrating to listen to a helicopter fly loops around your house all day while trying to get run your own business.
