Awwwwwwwwwwww.....

He is the most gorgeous animal. I bet he will be the center of attention at the pet show :)

I could look into those eyes for hours.

Thanks GW....  He will definitely have fun at the Pet Expo.  He will also draw visitors to our booth, everyone wants to touch him.  He is so extremely friendly, he loves everyone!!!

Nice shots,  Surfer Dude!  I am hoping to get some pictures of the Joshuas in bloom before it's too late.

Nice pics, SD. Curious, what is that purple bulb on the Joshua near the usual white flower cluster? Looks kind of like a purple artichoke :D

I took this pic last weekend. It's a picture of the first women to ever solicit business on Sierra Highway.  Does anyone remember her? Or what corner she stood on?

Anyone know where she is working now?

Angelwolf and BP SSquirrel,
Love the photos!  Beautiful!  And SkierBob, No clue.  Who is she?  Was it a carhop sort of place?

I took these pictures this morning in my neighbor's yard.  I love these tulips, because the neighbors are only here a couple of times a year and no one maintains the yard, and yet these tulips bloom faithfully year after year.

We went to the Antelope Valley Poppy Reserve last weekend. It was gorgeous! Here are a few shots:

A stitched panorama - 2 shots @ 18mm merged with Image Expert (same for the first shot above):

Great shots BPSquirrel!!!

And cheerfulkim, same for yours. I love the exposure and contrast that you got. Did you use AE for the tulip shots, or are you delving into your own exposure settings yet? Manual focus?

I'm still using the auto exposure, but I have to manually focus because I'm using my dad's old film lenses.  I'm finally learning about the manual exposure, so I need to get out and experiment some.

Many times, manual focus is the best, depending on the subject. The 3 closeups from the Poppy Reserve above were taken with my 50mm f1.7 prime lens - the first lens I got with my first SLR back in 1986.  :)
