You know Jack, you might want to check your neighbors yards and backyards for leftovers.  Last year I watched a bear get into our dumpster and he took a bag of trash across the street, between houses and inspected everything in our neighbors back yard.  He kept coming back and to get another bag, and each time I told him not too but he wouldn't listen!

(Mind you I am on the 2nd floor balcony telling him this ;D)

Wow! That's a big bear! Better keep a pair of britches handy next to your camera.

Thanks for the great wildlife photography!

As for the person posting under "stewabunny" I don't know what that username signifies, but for some reason, I cringe every time I see that - why would anyone want to stew a sweet little bunny rabbit?

I love all of the beautiful animals in our forest and want only a natural, happy life for them!

The guzzler was replaced with a small pond and continues to attract a variety of wildlife.

These photos were captured last month - first time ever for deer at the guzzler

The bear has been back at the guzzler at least three times in the past few days.

This message was sent to me by a person who is currently working on spotted owl surveys in the Angeles National Forest:

These videos are very important as it documents wildlife including threatened species (spotted owl) using guzzlers in the wildland urban interface of southern California.  We are in a drought cycle this season and the wildlife depends on natural and man made water sources for survival.  I have noticed that many of the natural water sources are drying up and not available.

Another busy night/day at the guzzler.....

From previous photos and discussions the hawk appears to be a Cooper's Hawk.
Here's more on that discussion: http://www.wrightwoodcalif.com/forum/index.php/topic,498.msg18895.html#msg18895

Interesting to see the Bobcat's ears constantly searching for noises, and the hawk seems very comfortable in water.  I didn't realize they fish.

The Cooper's Hawk has been making daily visits to the guzzler. Hopefully it's not getting old seeing similar videos but had to try out the new trail cam's daytime quality. (The video quality has been reduced for YouTube so it would load quicker.)
