They are very cool and we have two types that visit each summer.  I enjoy watching them drink from the Oriole feeders we put up.  If you don't they decimate the regular Hummingbird ones.

We still have four or five Anna's Hummingbirds hanging around.  They have never stopped feeding (as they have the last two years) even when the feeders had to be brought in and de-thawed.  As always, they are fun to watch and marvel at.

Well, I did it.  I put together 80 pages of photos that really moved me one way or another.  Called, "87 Moments In Time".  It is a Photography book and is available at BLURB....an on line publishing company.  Full color, bound with color dust jacket....you can see a preview at:

Currently almost ready to share screen savers of my photos.  Just working out the tech details for all operating systems.

Congratulations Wildman. As beautiful as your photos are here on the forum, as soon as people see the pages in the book you should become a multi billionaire.

Keep up the good work.  :2thumbsup:

Lovely!..I'm saving up for it, I knew the piggybank money would come in useful. ;)

I want to send one to NZ and have one for myself. Nice for the local libraries to have one too.

Thanks.  I'm glad you like the photos.

This is a Flicker enjoying the Suet feeder.  We feed suet year round and buy it on sale at Mountain Hardware.  The Jays and Flickers love it.

This is a shot of a bird in snow.  You know, the stuff that is supposed to have fallen.  Maybe this will stimulate some wet weather.

Just got a phone call from someone informing me that one of my hummingbird photos graces the entrance to a another local web forum (taken without my permission, of course).  That, I guess, is the downside of putting your work out so others can see it.  Someone is always lazy or feels that they should be able to use your work as they see fit.

Probably would been happy to give them permission but they never bothered to ask.  Where I come from, we call that being a thief.

I wouldn't lose any sleep over it as that website is down more often than it's up. It's so slow when it is working I don't even bother reading the two new post per month they get

The Owens Valley is such an interesting place and full of rich history.  This is from the Archives and is from last Spring when I went to Mule Days.
I was trying out a wide depth of field (from here to there).

Took the photo this morning while having my morning coffee on the front porch.
One of the five or six that still make the ranch their home.  I never can get over the colors.

That's an incredible hummingbird shot, Wildman!  Is that an Anna's hummer?

Wildman, Thank you, so much, for sharing your Humminbird photo! It's spectacular!  I'm in awe at the beauty and have never seen a humming that close up! Thank you for this experience!

This is what Winter used to look like.  I've got Iris trying to come up and Manzanita starting to bloom.  Taken on Hwy 2 East of the village.
