Taking our kid(s) out with trash bags to pick up trash (in kid-safe areas; not right along the highway) would be a great lesson in civic responsibility (and reasons not to litter). If we all pick up a little, think how clean things will be by spring.

My husband and I made the trip from 138 up hwy2 today. I was really glad to see that someone had made a huge effert to pick up trash clear up to the bridge. Private parties or Cal Trans, I know not who, but thank you, thank you.

Usually the snow player rush starts when we get real snow. This is because they all look up at the hills and see the white mountain tops, and decide to take the family for a day in the snow.

Yep- it usually starts when you can see it from down below! We back up to the wash that runs along Highway 2- so we usually have people playing in our backyard, and we also get to watch the traffic jam as people make their way up to the mountain. Good times!

A few thoughts:

- The tubing area is going to pull some of the families with cash off of HWY 2. This is good for Mountain High, and might bring a few more families up the hill, but the losers who BBQ and change their diapers on the side of the road, and leave both, will not spend $ to go tubing.

- One could collect the BBQs, and the trash can lids and disc sleds, in March, then sell them back to the flat-landers on Memorial Day garage sales as "Vintage" rustic BBQs and sleds.

How about this for some intertainment...... We're bringing up a 24' U-Haul this weekend for the move in. Guess where???

This weekend should not have a snow player crowd but that intersection could be a doozie.
