Yeah, it's just replays right now. Most of the stations are not covering live right now, at least on internet feeds.

The news is misleading. They say the "Phelan is completely covered in smoke" . But the fire isn't near what we consider Phelan, at least not downtown Phelan. They seem to be talking about the northeast part of Phelan. Or am I turned around?

NBC online just showed fire going up southside? Lone Pine Road, also up high on the ridge line of Lone Pine to the north.
It's burning up 138-- not desert side of Phelan. Also houses are burning in Oak Hills. It's like a hand with
fingers that's why  it's hard to fight. They also showed the chevron station at 138/15 with a small fire on the roof. The spot fires are incredible. I have friends on Snowline who are packed but haven't left.

I was NOT COMPLAINING about this site - in general information was just all over the place - I still have not received a robo call - no sheriff has driven on my street with speakers on - have been here over 27 years  never been so all over the place !

Confirmed.  Just saw video on Channel 9 news.  I think the challenge for authorities right now is the wide-ranging scope of the fire, and the sparse population density.  I don't recall a similar fire in the pass - one that has branched out in so many different directions, from blue cut to the ridge near Lytle Creek up to the top of the pass and into the lower portions of Lone Pine Canyon (apparently).

Ok.. so we're all fine and we're all worried and we have good reason to be.  Those of us in mandatory evac areas should take that seriously. Course, I'm still trying to figure out what those coordinates are as detailed in MDB's previous post here.  And, MDB is posting what the news is saying a minute or two ago.

This fire is up to 9000+ acres just since this morning.  This one is moving faster than information can move. Let's stay as calm as we can and help one another as we can.  I know staying calm is hard to do.  In particular for our friends in the WCV.. baseballfan.. I'm thinking of you and your family now. Do let us know if you are ok.  So Onward guys..  let's keep our focus and help each other as we can.  cheryl o7o
